Which commands to run at Chapter 1: The Mongod Lab: Launching Mongod

Hiya,

I am trying to work on the
Chapter 1: The Mongod

Lab: Launching Mongod

I am trying to follow the instructions provided

  1. From your IDE terminal, launch a mongod instance that listens for connections on port 27000.

mongod --port 27017 --dbpath /data/db --bind_ip localhost --auth

  1. Run the proper commands, click “Run Tests” to run a suite of tests that will check the configuration of mongod.
Which commands to run here? I am little confused. Any information would be a great help.

Hi there,

Be aware of the “listen for connections on port 27000”

There is a Run Tests green button on the bottom right corner of the IDE, that checks the exercise.

Hi Santiago,

Thanks for your response. The simple command worked for me.

mongod --port 27000 --dbpath /data/db

Mahantesh

Hi @Mahantesh_Angadi,

The second point was referencing to the first one that once you have run the command for starting a mongod instance which listens on port 27000 click on Run Tests to validate your work.

And you don’t have to specify the --dbpath in this lab as it was not part of the requirements as well as by default mongod considers /data/db as the default data directory.

Hope it helps!
