Var/mongodb/pki directory

I’m to place the keyfile in the /var/mongodb/pki directory. I placed it right under the the C drive.but to no avail.

Paul from Montreal

Its in the vagrant m103, when you ssh into vagrant, you can list your file there.

 vagrant@m103:~$ ls /var/mongodb/pki/m103-keyfile

Hi Kanika:
I have initiated a replica set, Chapter 2
May I know what to correct?
Paul A. Dupuis alias “Monteal”

I am sorry I din’t get your question right.

What is the problem you are facing?

Hello Kanika:
My question is about reviewing my proposed solution in chapter 2 and bringing corrections or better ideas to it.
I’m moving forward with MongoDB and would like to attain a good basic knowledge.

It is my idea that MongoDB is breaking new grounds in data delivery internet-wide.
Data is information: the more actual it is, the more useful it is.
Clients want the right information to make the right decisions

Thank you for writting to me.

My warm regards,
Paul-A. Dupuis

Thanks Paul. And Welcome back here.

Ssh in vagrant and run these following commands:

vagrant@m103:~$ sudo mkdir -p /var/mongodb/pki
vagrant@m103:~$ sudo chown vagrant:vagrant -R /var/mongodb
vagrant@m103:~$ openssl rand -base64 741 > /var/mongodb/pki/m103-keyfile
vagrant@m103:~$ chmod 600 /var/mongodb/pki/m103-keyfile

Then use the keyfile in your configuration file and let me know if you face any issues.

I agree, we’re leading the way in data storage and trying to make it simple to get at it in whatever way you want. There will be some exciting announcements at MongoDB World this year that I think you’ll like.
We will love to hear any feedback/suggestions.
