Validate_box not returning any key

I typed in validate_box but the response is command not found.
I typed validate and the response was, "The program validate is currently not installed. To run ‘validate’ please ask your administrator to install the package ‘wdg-html-validator’. "
Please how do I go about it.
Thank you.

Is your vagrant setup complete?
Where did you run the command?
Run as below
vagrant@m103:~ hostname m103 vagrant@m103:~ validate_box

Hey @Olawale_31333

As @Ramachandra_37567 has ask. Are you inside your vagrant VM? If not run

vagrant ssh

Your shell prompt should look like

vagrant@m103:~$

To validate that your box is running properly, execute the following command from the Vagrant command line:

validate_box

Once I succeed with the vagrant up —provision. I will retry and revert.
Thank you.

Hello @natac13,
I am good to go now.
The final Dataset installation was successful and I can see the validation key on my cmd prompt.
Thanks for your assistance.

I have tried all the steps in this post and I am still receiving a “command not found” error. Of course, this is after reinstalling Virtualbox, Vagrant, modifying the vagrantfile to reflect the new sudo apt-get key, etc.

Are you sure you are inside the VM?

Yes…I can see the vagrant promt on the side

Hi @Brandon,

Please try the following steps:

vagrant@mXXX:~ exit
mXXX-vagrant-env$ vagrant destroy

Then try to bring up the vagrant environment using the commands below:

m103-vagrant-env$ vagrant up --provision
m103-vagrant-env$ vagrant ssh
vagrant@m103:~$ download_validators

Then, you can try to run validation scripts from the vagrant environment.

Please let me know, if you still face any issues.

Thanks,
Sonali

After following your instructions, this is what shows in my terminal

Hello @Brandon_48087,
Can you terminate the process using the command below;
vagrant@mXXX:~ exit
mXXX-vagrant-env$ vagrant destroy

After doing that restart the process again ensure that your internet connectivity is superb.
Type the following;
vagrant up --provision

This restarts the process afresh and I am sure it will pull the validation script this time as well.
It worked for me and I am sure it will for you too.

Thank you.

I tried everything you mentioned and the following screens show the output:

Validate_box2 Validate_box3

Eureka!..Finally figured it out. I was using the “vagrant up --provision” command to try and provision the machine, when in actuality, I simply needed to run “vagrant provision” for the system to download the validation scripts. Thanks to everyone who offered help and advice.
