Vagrant up and/or Provision issue

I am getting the following error message on my initial setup of a vagrant VM:

Vagrant was unable to mount VirtualBox shared folders. This is usually
because the filesystem “vboxsf” is not available. This filesystem is
made available via the VirtualBox Guest Additions and kernel module.
Please verify that these guest additions are properly installed in the
guest. This is not a bug in Vagrant and is usually caused by a faulty
Vagrant box. For context, the command attempted was:
mount -t vboxsf -o uid=1000,gid=1000 home_vagrant_shared /home/vagrant/shared

The error output from the command was:

mount: unknown filesystem type ‘vboxsf’

in addition: on subsequebt executions of “vagrant up” i get the same message.

I have had vagrant up on this box before for use with other courses. not sure what this issue is here.

Please help.
Thx
Lou

Have you tried vbguest plugin?
If it does not work vagrant destroy and vagrant up
Please check threads in our forum with search string “mount: unknown filesystem type ‘vboxsf’”

Hi @Louis_99687,

Please let me know if the problem still persists.
