Unable to launch MongoDB in Windows 10

I am working mongodb 4.4 o Windows 10, and it was working fine. I didnt even need to launch it explicitly as it runs as service and could connect to it using mongo compass. But now I see that on computer start it doesnt start, and so when I try to run mongod command explicitly, I get message:

Even though mongof.cfg has this:

# Where and how to store data.
storage:
  dbPath: C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.4\data

I am not able to understand the issue.

When you start manually mongod without any options it will try to bring up mongod on default port 27017 and default directory /data/db
Since the dir does not exist it is failing

Coming back to your Windows mongod which runs as service please check why it is not up after reboot
It should come up automatically
Check your taskmanager services.Should see mongod service
Check if it is configured to auto start or not

As @Ramachandra_Tummala mentioned, you should first understand why it’s not starting with your computer like it used to.

If you still want to start mongod manually after that, you need to provide the configuration like so:

mongod --config <PATH_TO_CONFIG>

Read mongod --help or the documentation for more details.

So how to configure mongod to autostart?
