Still having --fork issues

Help!! I have been faking my way around the fork option, but I would really like to know the correct way to resolve it. I have:
vagrant@m103:~ dir csrs_1.conf data vagrant@m103:~

Where does var/mongodb/ get created? (I am sure it was explained in a prior lesson, but can’t locate it at the moment)

We create the dirs
It will be under /var

From notes:
Note that the mongod does not automatically create the dbPath directory. You will need to create this yourself:
mkdir /var/mongodb/db/{1,2,3}

–fork is used to run mongod in background
try to run without --fork option to see the errors on your screen on why it is failing(mostly missing dirs,permission issues,wrong paths)

Ok, it tells me that directory already exists. Something is still wrong:

I feel like I missed something in the install or something? What is the policy for repeating a course?

Hi @debra_27516,

You just need to register for the next offering. I can see you are already registered for that. It will start from 14 May 2019.

Kanika

I did :slight_smile: Now to uninstall everything so I can start fresh. Hopefully, I will see where I went wrong.
