Not able to Sandbox Cluster from Compass

I am able to connect to host cluster0-shard-00-00-jxeqq.mongodb.net.
But not to sandbox cluster from compass.
getting “MongoDB not running on the provided host and port”.

My Sandbox cluster primary cluster0-shard-00-00-tb7j1.mongodb.net:27017

pls help

What steps did you take to resolve the issue? I’m currently getting the same error.

I was getting the error due to copying and pasting the entire shard string into the hostname.
// in Compass
Hostname: sandbox-shard-00-01-c6j6s.mongodb.net:27017

I was able to connect by not including the Port in the hostname string:
// in Compass
Hostname: sandbox-shard-00-01-c6j6s.mongodb.net
Port: 27017

Just check the hostname you picked from the sandbox cluster. By mistake I took some unwanted characters at the end.

Please check your connection parameters
Change read preferences to Primary as suggested

@Manisha_83192 Did the issue resolved?. Because I’m facing the same issue. Everything seems correct from the client part(from mongo shell and mongo compass). When I see the cluster details in the cloud, I’m getting an 404 error while access primary shard.53%20AM

Hi @Siva_51335,

Please share the following details :

  1. The mongo shell connection string for your cluster.
  2. The error message that you are getting when you are attempting to connect from Compass.

Did you follow all the steps mentioned in the Lecture: Lab 2.0: Create an Atlas Sandbox Cluster (Ungraded) correctly while creating your sandbox cluster ?
