MongoDB History Backup information

Hi

How to check mongodb history backup, when was last backup taken for dataabase

Welcome to MongoDB community!

MongoDB servers does not back themselves on their own they can just replicate between each other. To backup your database you need to use one of the following methods, each method has its own ways to view backup information:

no my question is if we used mongodump or any other method to backup the database, can i list out the list of history when the last backup was performed against mongodb database

Hi @kumaran_rajendran

There is no record of this stored in mongodb. So no you cannot list out a history of backups.

Hi @kumaran_rajendran,

You can though add a script to your post backup process to update the time kofthe last backup as a stored document.
