Mongod is not installed on the database VM

when i type mongod in database vm, it says mongodb-server is not installed.
do i need to set it up seperately ?

Hi Nidhyanantham,

You don’t need to install the software for MongoDB. The vagrant provisioning process installs MongoDB and various libraries BUT does not setup or configure an instance. It should exist:

vagrant@database:~$ which mongod
/usr/bin/mongod

If the vagrant up process did not provision the VM with MongoDB. I would run the following

vagrant reload database
vagrant provision database

Hope that helps,

David

vagrant@vagrant-ubuntu-trusty-64:~$ vagrant reload database
The program 'vagrant' is currently not installed. To run 'vagrant' please ask your administrator to install the package 'vagrant'

what about this,

@Mostafa_31643, if you get a prompt vagrant@vagrant-ubuntu-trusty-64:~$, it means you are already running in the vagrant VM. To run vagrant reload database, you must exit and halt the VM first in order to run the command on the host OS.
