Lab: Creating First Application User

I’m doing the Lab: Creating First Application User

But I keep getting an error after using the command below:

mongo --port 27000 -u m103-application-user -p m103-application-pass --authenticationDatabase admin

The error is below in the screen shot
How can I solve the bug?
Thanks

Hi,

To authenticate a user, the credentials have to be correct. But also the user should already exist in the database.

Did you already create the user?

If not, the idea is that the first connection to a database makes use of the localhost exception, no credentials are needed. Just use admin and then create the user.

The first step of this lab is:

Connect to a mongod instance that is already running in the background on port 27000 . You can find the options used to launch mongod in the configuration file in your file editor.

The m103-admin user has also already been created for you with password m103-pass.

The goal of the lab is to create the user m103-application-user, that the second step.

Ok

Ok I’ll do that
If I get a bug, I’ll let you know
Thanks

@Santiago_Miranda
I meant to use
mongo --port 27000 -u m103-admin -p m103-pass --authenticationDatabase admin

but used
mongo --port 27000 -u m103-application-user -p m103-application-pass --authenticationDatabase admin

Connection problem is solved now.
Thanks
