Index on Analytics Node in Atlas

Hi Team,

Wanted to know if we can create separate index on the Analytic nodes than the other node ?
Also in case of only 1 Analytical node and that going down due to hardware failure, does the new node does initial sync , do we have any sla for same.

Hi Nitin,

did you manage to create an index on a secondary node in MongoDB Atlas? If so, could you, please, share how that can be done.

This is a great question - why hasn’t it been answered?

As of writing, asymmetric indexes are currently not possible in Atlas as they aren’t natively supported in the database yet and would require alternative approaches that come with compromises.

Asymmetric hardware was the first focus for MongoDB’s broader real-time analytics strategy, as released during Mongo World this year.
