I can't connect to Compass

Hello! I’m trying to connect to MongoDB Compass. I succesfully downloaded the last version, but when I launched it and after completing the fields as told in the course…

Server selection timed out after 10000 ms

Hi,

Please check if you have firewall disabled - because if it’s not the case, it might be causing the issue.

If that doesn’t work, please try re-installing compass and let me know if the issue persists.

Hi @duernhoefer,

Possible scenarios where server selection timeout can happen include – if a network is down or there is firewall/anti-virus enabled or a primary node failure in a replica set - and you already seem to have checked your firewall.

Can you please share the connection string that you are using to connect?

Hi @fabin,

I am able to connect using the same connection string without any issues.

Please make sure you are not behind a firewall or using your office network (VPN connection). Try connecting from your home network.

Is there a Windows version I can use. I can’t seem to install the .deb version and cannot find one on the downloads page. The version there is 1.19.
