How to measure mongodb index time creation?

Hi,

How could I know how long it takes for an index to be built, for a cluster with three members one primary and two replicas.

It depends on some many variables that it would be very hard to evaluate.

Some of those variables are:

1. Number of CPUs per host and their speed.
2. Amount of memory per host.
3. Disk speed
4. Network speed between hosts
5. Complexity of the index (single field, compound, multikey, geospacial, …)
