Having issues with running notebooks

Hello,

Are there any instructions/videos on how to run those jupyter notebooks?

I am having hard time getting the Jupyter run and execute code blocks. I am able to open Jupyter notebooks on my browser using http://localhost:8888/tree, and able click your_first_read.ipynb and it opens on a new tab but I am getting kernel timeout after a while. Not able to execute any code.

I have updated my imort ste as follows,

import pymongo

uri = “mongodb+srv://m220student:m220password@mflix-j9tgj.mongodb.net/test”
client = pymongo.MongoClient(uri)
m220 = client.m220
movies = m220.movies

Thanks,
Shahul

Thanks,
Shahul

change this line m220 = client.m220 with m220 = client.mflix and try to execute

There is an open issue regarding this on Jupyter Notebook repository. A workaround is here.

Hi Palash,

I tried almost all the options mentioned on the workaround but I am still having the issue.

Thanks,
Shahul

Below things worked for me.

pip uninstall jupyter-console
pip uninstall prompt-toolkit
pip uninstall jupyter

pip uninstall jupyter-console
pip install prompt-toolkit
pip install jupyter

Thanks Hardik. I tried the above steps. But the issue still persists.

When I tried to run ‘pip install jupyter-console’, I got the following error message,
ipython 6.5.0 has requirement prompt-toolkit<2.0.0,>=1.0.15, but you’ll have pro
mpt-toolkit 2.0.7 which is incompatible.

I am not sure if the error message is the issue here.

UPDATE

Thank you so much Hardik! The issue was that I am using virtualenv and all the folders inside it are read-only for some reason. Once I gave permission, everything seems to be working now! If you hadnt replied, I would not have tried anything!!

Thanks,
Shahul
