General question : sample databases

Hi,

I installed mongo locally, but I do not see the sample databases… ?
How do I get them to show up when I use the command “show dbs” ? ( I think that is the right syntax )

Thanks

What sample databases are you expecting to see?

Here are the DBs ( from this lesson ) https://university.mongodb.com/mercury/M121/2020_September_8/chapter/Chapter_0_Introduction_and_Aggregation_Concepts/lesson/59de3c10e433130e0a9628d2/lecture

It states I should also see the following collections:

mongo_Collections

How did you connect to your mongodb?
What connect string you have used and on which db you were when you ran show dbs

All those collections are under aggregations db

Hi @Michael_Liss,

To connect to the Class Atlas Cluster, use the following connection string:

mongo “mongodb://cluster0-shard-00-00-jxeqq.mongodb.net:27017,cluster0-shard-00-01-jxeqq.mongodb.net:27017,cluster0-shard-00-02-jxeqq.mongodb.net:27017/aggregations?replicaSet=Cluster0-shard-0” --authenticationDatabase admin --ssl -u m121 -p aggregations --norc

You can then type the following commands to view the db and collections:

db
show collections

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Sonali
