Ch 2-Lab 2: Understanding Problem

The problem states that “Calculate an average rating for each movie”. However, in our collection, there is only one value for IMDB rating. Which values are we supposed to average them?

Below is a sample document:

{
“_id” : ObjectId(“573a1390f29313caabcd421c”),
“title” : “A Turn of the Century Illusionist”,
“year” : 1899,
“runtime” : 1,
“cast” : [
“Georges Mlis”
],
“lastupdated” : “2015-08-29 00:21:21.547000000”,
“type” : “movie”,
“directors” : [
“Georges Mlis”
],
“imdb” : {
“rating” : 6.6,
“votes” : 580,
“id” : 246
},
“countries” : [
“France”
],
“genres” : [

Use the ‘normalize_rating’ value – you want to calculate that value across a whole set of movies, which will be the “average” that you’re looking for. I think the English here is a bit opaque, unfortunately. :wink:

You might also use the “Report an issue” tab at the bottom of the screen to mention this to the curriculum team, who perhaps can clarify the wording a bit. Good luck.
